Bowel Cancer Screening

Please do not ignore your bowel cancer screening test! It's not every day an envelope posted through your door could save your life.
Bowel cancer screening tests are sent to the homes of all people after they turn 50. The home test kit collects a small sample of poo which is posted back to a lab to be checked for tiny amounts of blood. Blood can be a sign of polyps - growths in the bowel which can turn to cancer - or could already be a sign of cancer itself.

Please watch this special video which explains more about the test

Information on the new RSV Vaccine

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is an infectious disease of the airways and lungs. RSV infection often causes symptoms similar to a cold, including cough, sore throat, sneezing and runny or blocked nose. It can also make you become wheezy or short of breath and lead to pneumonia and other life-threatening conditions. There is no specific treatment, and most infections will get better by themselves. Every year thousands of older adults need hospital care for RSV, and some of them will die. RSV can be more severe in people with medical conditions such as heart or lung disease or a weakened immune system. RSV infection is common in young children but is most serious for small babies and for older people.

The new RSV Vaccine is available for:

  • Patients who turn 75 years of age on or after the 1st September 2024
  • Patients who are already aged 75-79 years old on 1st September 2024
  • Pregnant patients from 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Further information is available for patients below:
